About

What is the "magic lamp"? How is a tablecloth made for the Lord's table? What was the prophecy told to Lajos Kossuth by his law professor? These questions are answered in our permanent exhibition. Our museum displays artefacts related to the Reformed College of Sárospatak, founded in 1531. Special attention is paid to our great teachers, such as Jan Amos Comenius or Sándor Kövy; to our illustrious students, such as Lajos Kossuth or Zsigmond Móricz; and to the the aristocratic supporters of the college, such as György Rákóczi I and his wife, Zsuzsanna Lorántffy. The interactive exhibition gives visitors an insight not only into the life of the Patak College but also into the history of education in Hungary in general.
