Three Indian friends with a hospitality background who miss classic homestyle Indian food in Iceland, the type they used to eat in their childhood. We decided the best way to fix this predicament was to cook our own. Consequently, in October 2020, the Indian Food Factory Company was formed. Indian Food Box is the name of the restaurant. We bought the restaurant in Langrimi 21, Reykjavik, got some scary bank loans, spent all our money on equipment, and started making food from our grandma’s 100 year old recipe, adding our touch to make it suitable for Icelandic people. Spice ;) We have a small menu but an eye for detail. Every item is cooked to perfection with our family spices imported from India. We also provide a pickup, catering and takeaway service. Our biggest mission when we set up Indian Food Box was to make people sensel the Indian home food taste and that will always be our main objective.
