Hi there We are a couple who live on the farm Skálatjörn, close to Reykjavik (60 min drive). We run a bed and breakfast at our home for visitors who like to experience the real Icelandic country side. Skálastjörn is on an excellent location for those who want to travel to the spectacular places on the southwest part of Iceland, the famous Golden Circle is for example close by our farm, and the mountain tracks of Fjallabaksleid is few kilometers away. Going to Vestmannaeyjar is also an excellent daytrip from our house. Through our livingroom window you can see two of the most famous volcanoes in Iceland, Eyjafjallajökull and Hekla. You can also unwind yourself and just stay at our house enjoying the calming pace of the countrylife. We have three dogs, sheep, goats, and colourful Icelandic hens. In front of the house is a pond with wild ducks swimming and nesting. Skálatjörn is close to Selfoss (15 min drive), the third largest town in Iceland, where you can go swimming, golfing or dining. In the neighbourhood are several horse rentals. Skálatjörn was built in 2006, therefore, it is a confortable and modern standard home and b&b. We enjoy having guests at our house and we like them to feel like home, for example if they need to use a washing machine. We also offer free wifi and of course a tasty breakfast and dinner .
