The Sligo Rovers Outdoor Museum
About
The Showgrounds Outdoor Museum, created by the Sligo Rovers Heritage Group, is the first facility of its kind by an Irish football club. This innovative museum offers an accessible and engaging overview of Sligo Rovers' fascinating history. Consisting of 100 panels placed throughout the ground, it highlights legendary players, managers, dedicated volunteers, and famous supporters. The museum also represents the social history of Sligo over the past 90+ years, showcasing the club's tradition of inclusivity and diversity, having welcomed managers, players, and volunteers from abroad. Key figures such as Johnny Armstrong, Chris Rutherford, Tony Stenson, Paul Fielding, and volunteers like Johnny Chadda and Packie McGowan are featured prominently. This latest project by the Heritage Group aims to inspire future generations and celebrate the rich heritage of Sligo Rovers through a unique and comprehensive outdoor exhibition.
