Community Tea Rooms and Shop. Our Tea Rooms and Shop in Ballyhale was formed by the communities of Knocktopher, Ballyhale, Knockmoylon ( Hence the KBK) to alleviate the loss of all our retail outlets due to the recession and the opening of the M9 motorway which bypassed the village. We formed a Co Operative Company, we obtained a long term lease on our premises from the local County Council, obtained various grants, fundraised and obtained a loan to enable us repair and redesign the premises. Over a 3 year period, we obtained planning permission, appointed a builder and brought our dreams to reality. We have our Community Tea Rooms and Shop, manned by members of the Community, all volunteers, and all profits are reinvested in the community. We pride ourselves on our premises, which has a warm, homily feel about it; the friendliness of our staff ;the quality of our food. Please visit us to experience the hospitality of a Community that has fought back against rural isolation.
