Le Paicciole Farm lies at an altitude of 800 m between the Val d'Orcia, the Maremma and the valley of lake Bolsena, immersed in the typical greenery of the Tuscan hills on the south eastern slopes of Mount Amiata (an ancient extinct volcano), between the provinces of Siena and Grosseto, in the heart of the Monte Penna Nature Reserve and bordering on the Pigelleto Nature Reserve, both with a wealth of long tracks, perfect for walking or cycling, in the Mediterranean woodland rich in truffles and natural meadows that make holidays in this area truly unforgettable. It's in a convenient location with respect to archaeological, spa and scenic sites of the area. Just a short distance from here you'll find the Mining Village of Siele and the Museum of the Amiata Mines National Park. Nearby there are the spa resorts of San Casciano dei Bagni, Bagni San Filippo, Bagno Vignoni, Saturnia, Terme di Sorano. Ski resorts nearby: Mount Amiata. The reserve has a wealth of animal life such as foxes, wild boar, deer, porcupines, some examples of peregrine falcon, woodcocks (during migration), buzzards, badgers, pheasants, hares, polecats, martens, owls etc. Nearby villages: Castell'Azzara, Selvena, Piancastagnaio, Abbadia San Salvatore, Santa Fiora, Pitigliano, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Sovana, "The town of tuff stone", Pienza, Siena, Grosseto, lake Bolsena. The apartments are all independent and provided with kitchenette and outdoor area. Our farm covers an area of 22 acres comprising: an olive grove, chestnut wood, an orchard, chicken and rabbit runs and a relaxation area.
