The Gray Bear Hotel is the oldest Hotel in Innichen/San Candido and one of the oldest in the hole Alps. We know the owner since 1462 and we celebrated 550 years of hotel history 2012. This long tradition is emphasized by the fact that our family owns it since 1745. Despite our tradition we have always made an effort to keep up with modern times and design, forever cherishing the antique and seeking the new. We have combined design and history in an harmonically manner. Our guests can enjoy authentically kept rooms furnished from different epochs, for instance our original Restaurant from the fifties, and the late Gothic Hotel Hall. All rooms are furnished in a different style - some rooms modern, some with original 19th. century central European style furniture. We have always tried to find perfection, paying special notice to our kitchen and wine cellar. The kitchen is lead by Star head-chef Cosimo Chirico who has an excellent reputation. The owner Franz Ladinser is a wine specialist himself - and gives his guests advice and help in their choice of wines personally. The town San Candido is a small very old town with Italian flair. The centre is a pedestrian aria with lots of shops, cafes and restaurants. Visitors can enjoy a smart and cosy stay. San Candido is the perfect places from where you can start daily trips through landscape from Alta Pusteria with his two national parks "Drei Zinnen" and "Fanes Sennes Prags".
