Rifugio Fodom
About
Nestled at 2,070 metres above sea level between the iconic Arabba and the Pordoi Pass, Rifugio Fodom is a mountain refuge that has captured the hearts of hikers, skiers and food lovers for over three decades. Its charming log‑and‑stone architecture blends rustic Alpine comfort with modern amenities, providing a convivial gathering place in the heart of the Sellaronda ski circuit and the wider Sella Group. Visitors can savor authentic Italian fare – from hand‑made pizzas and classic panini to carefully selected wines – while enjoying breathtaking panoramic views of the Dolomites. The hut is open exclusively in winter, welcoming guests daily from 08:00 am to 05:30 pm, with evening service arranged upon request. Many guests come here to warm up after a day on the slopes, share a hearty meal, or celebrate special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, or weddings in its cosy lounge and terrace. Even in the off‑season, deep‑in‑depth content is available via helicopter flights that drop travellers straight to the summit, offering a spectacular aerial introduction to the landscape. Beyond the culinary delights, Rifugio Fodom offers a range of social and recreational activities. A small ice bar, a lookout tower, and a dedicated “XUZ” kiosk provide refreshment options for those seeking a quick bite, while a carefully curated wine cellar showcases local and international labels. The refuge’s host team is renowned for attentive service, making it a favourite spot for families, skiing enthusiasts, and nature lovers alike.
