Rifugio Lagazuoi
About
Rifugio Lagazuoi – perched at 2,752 m on Monte Lagazuoi near Cortina d’Ampezzo – is the highest and most spacious mountain refuge in the Dolomites. Visitors are treated to a sweeping 360° panorama over the UNESCO‑listed peaks, a Finnish‑style sauna, a terrace restaurant serving traditional Ladin cuisine, and a range of accommodation from private rooms to shared cabins. The refuge doubles as a botanical garden of alpine flowers, a trail hub with both summer hiking routes and winter ski access, and a cultural venue that hosts workshops, German‑Ladin festivals, and a World‑War I trenches museum. Open from June to October during the summer season and throughout winter for ski tours, the refuge blends nature, adventure and comfort into a single unforgettable experience.
