Charming Farmhouse surrounded by beautiful hills, only 15 minutes away from Bologna centre Five beautiful rooms and two apartments, with style and all comforts, our wine and jams, the pool, the garden, books in all rooms, meeting other fellow travellers, the fire-place in the living-room, the garden...rolling fields, golden vineyards, lunar clay valleys and multifarious woods.....walks, hiking trails, biking tours or just plain relax. Rooms, (one with kitchenette) have a private bathroom, free WIFI, satellite TV, fan and adjustable heating. Books and paintings add to the warm glamour and to the feeling of being at home. Apartments, finished in 2016, have an eat-in kitchen, a bathroom and one room that is both living and sleeping room. They entitle you to all our services with the only exception of breakfast. Final cleaning is included in the price. Each apartment has satellite TV, free WIFI, adjustable heating, AC and automatic air recycle. In the midst of flowers, a lovely pool offers freshness and relaxation during the hottest months. Fields are organically cultivated. Our cultivation is varied: from vineyard to berries, from vegetable garden to officinal herbs, from strawberries to fruit trees. With our grapes we produce our Sangiovese, a very natural and fruity wine. Enjoy it in your room, by the pool or in the garden! Our agriturismo is certified by Legambiente, the leading environmental organization in Italy. We only use energy from sustainable sources. More than that: Il Cavicchio has been built with natural materials. This is one of the reasons why it can claim an excellent thermal insulation. We cultivate our plants according to the precepts of organic farming: we thus obtain a better flavour, and the environment receives a beneficial effect. We love meeting people and we love our region, Emilia Romagna. This is why it will be a pleasure to help and advise you during your stay. BREAKFAST Enjoy your sweet and savoury breakfast in the morning: home-made jams, cakes, fruit, yogurt, Parma ham, Parmesan cheese, etc. In winter, you'll have breakfast in the dining room facing the garden, in summertime you can sit in the veranda under the wisteria. All guests sit at the same table. You can get to know each other, a moment of warmth and communication in the rush of modern life. We do not serve breakfast to apartment guests, since they have their own kitchen. Of course we will be happy to provide them with our home made jams, wine, seasonal fruit and vegetables from our fields. TERRITORY Relax in nature. We are surrounded by fields, vineyards, badlands and forests. Enjoy going for a walk, hiking and bike rides along trails and small roads nearby. Those who love nature and culture can visit Bologna, l'Eremo di Ronzano, the Gessi and Abbadessa Park or the Pliocene Counterfort. Being close to the main nearby highways makes it easy to reach many beautiful italian cities in short time (one/two hours by car). You can visit Florence, Pisa, Arezzo, Siena and Lucca, Modena, Parma and Ferrara, Ravenna, Rimini and Cesena, Verona, Padova and Venice, Mantova and Urbino. Do you prefer public transport? Bus stop is at 500 mts., Rastignano train station at 1800 mts Within the property there even is a forest of almost two hectares, with typical flora of these areas: oaks, acacias, maples, chestnuts, elms, ash trees, junipers, hawthorns, dogwoods, ivy, clematis, and many types of beautiful herbaceous perennial flowers. It is not uncommon to find traces of a wild boar, or to stumble upon woodpeckers, hares, pheasants, squirrels and even deer and foxes. A trail passes through the woods, up to a spectacular 350 years old.
