About
The Villanders mine, the attraction in the Isarco Valley, South Tyrol, Italy, with a wide view of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was one of the most important mining areas in Tyrol in the Middle Ages. After its decommissioning at the beginning of the 20th century, it fell into oblivion. Thanks to the work of the culture and museum association, the Villanders mine has been renovated in recent years and is now one of the few mines in South Tyrol that can also be visited by the public. Hundreds of years of Villandro's mining history are illuminated in mysterious darkness. Walk through the labyrinth of tunnels, where every stone bears witness to the hardships of a miner's life
