Rittner Erdpyramiden - Piramidi di Terra del Renon
About
Ritten’s earth pyramids, also known as Rittner Erdpyramiden, are a natural wonder perched on South Tyrol’s Ritten plateau. These towering, cone‑shaped earth pillars—some reaching up to 12 m—were sculpted by wind and rain over moraine clay left behind by the last Ice Age. Visitors can stroll through three main clusters located in the villages of Lengmoos, Oberbozen and Unterinn, discovering how each pyramid balances a stone capstone against relentless weathering. The site offers free entry, panoramic viewpoints, and seasonal hiking trails that weave through lush forests and open meadows, making it an appealing destination for families, nature lovers, and avid hikers alike.
