Art, Luxury and artisanship have always countersigned the Bottega Artigiana Paralumi since its origins in 1954. In 1989 the shop was bought by the actual owner, which continues the activity following the principles of handcraft tradition with courtesy and passion. In 2007 the shop moved to the actual site near to the historical center of the city, in a sixties building completely restored, easy to be reached, with an exposure of lamps and a private parking. Everything begins from the development of a creative idea through the realization of a lampshade: the procedure of the folding of the iron auction still happens with the same wooden tools used since the '50. The "handmade" technique allows to create endless structures, to realize classical sketches and more modern forms favoring to use unusual bases for the lamps as horns or branches of tree. Once folded, the iron is welded and painted to avoid any corrosion. At this stage the structure is ready to be dressed, using precious clothes that can be chosen as silk and brocade, skin (foal and leather), feathers, the ends can be sewn on the fabric you embroider ancient and decoration. The seam of the clothes happens by hand as well. In this way it is possible to realize lampshades in different materials, also those in possession of the client (particular tapestries, or in pandance with coverings of the furniture). The same cloth can be sew, folded up, structured in different shapes. Today, after more than 50 years, the Bottega Artigiana Paralumi has maintained the mission of the "handmade", adding the maniacal care for the detail and the exclusiveness of the product during the years, becoming a point of reference for private client and architects that are looking for a completely custom designed product, turning the lampshades into an unique piece, almost a piece of art.
