About
The Swiss Customs Museum is open from April to October. The Museum lies on the left bank of Lake Lugano, opposite Gandria and just a stone’s throw from Italy. The best way to get there is by ferry trough the docks «Museo Doganale» or «Cantine di Gandria». The Customs Museum tells stories from the past and as they are today about smuggling and protecting the Swiss border. Illegal trade, drug searches, economic crime, migration, species protection and much more: visitors to the museum gain an insight into the everyday work of customs employees for the security of the public, the economy and the state. The exhibitions are presented in Italian, German, French and English. The admission is free. The building is not barrier-free accessible.
