About

A fascinating journey back in time through the picturesque spaces of ancient convent of Santa Giustina, exploring the history of Salò and its sourrounding area from Roman times to today. Among archeological artefacts, incunabula of great value, paintings, musical instruments and anatomical specimens, you'll be trasported to an unfamiliar Salò - stunning capital of "Magnifica Patria" ("Magnificent Homeland") between 15th and 18th centuries, fervent melting pot of artists and intellectuals in the 19th century, sophisticated summer resort in 20th century and, last but not least, the heart of the 600 days of the ill-fated Italian Social Republic between 1943 and 1945. A new, large section dedicated to the tragic days of the Republic of Salò was opened in June 2023.
