La Mulattiera Country House
About
Welcome to La Mulattiera!!! Our B&B is the classic Tuscan farmhouse and it was built in 1905. The rooms are located in an old barn where the mangers are still used as bed headboards and the floor and ceiling have been kept unchanged with their original bricks, beams and stones. All rooms have a bathroom with shower and a kitchenette with refrigerator, sink and a hob. All the rooms at the ground floor have an external space to eat in the open air and each room is provided with a table and chairs. There is also a barbecue at disposal of our guests. In the garden, you can enjoy the sun or you can relax under the shade of our centuries-old pine trees, admiring the beautiful view of the Gulf of Follonica. From here you can also enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of the Tuscan archipelago, admiring Elba, Capraia, Cerboli, Palmaiola islands and, in clear days, often Corsica island. The estate is surrounded by hills in a very quiet area 114 m above the sea level, 6 km far from the sea and 11 km far from the Accesa Lake. From winter to autumn we also organize excursions with Enduro motorbikes across the amazing Tuscan Maremma lands. You can enjoy several outdoor activities and the owner Massimiliano will be at your complete disposal to drive you in the wild surroundings for motorbike, mountain biking, hiking and horse riding tours and excursions. The seaside and the beautiful famous beaches of Cala Violina, Punta Ala, Follonica and many others are only 6 km far away. And for those who want to chill out and relax in a spa, we recommend Calidario Spa (15 km) or the more well-known Saturnia thermal baths (80 km), situated in the heart of Tuscan Maremma. If you like to plunge you into the culture and tradition of our territory, taste some local products and some of our good wines or know the history of our past, we are located in a strategic point to reach easily the medieval towns of Massa Marittima (15 km), Siena (80 km), San Gimignano and Volterra (60 km), San Galgano with its legend of the sword in the stone and its peculiar abbey, famous for its extraordinary structure and because it hosted the group Iron Maiden during the filming of their video clip. Moreover, if you want to taste the old flavors of the past, many of these medieval towns become the stage of folkloristic festivals during the whole year.
