About

The ancient Roman colony of "Luna" was founded in 177 BC at the mouth of the Magra river, following some fierce battles against the Apuan Ligurians. It became a prosperous and powerful city thanks to marble quarries and trade. The archeological site enables visitors to discover the remains of ancient rich houses, public and religious structures and what was left of the amphiteatre.
