On a south facing hillock of the gentle sloping hills of Lucca, lies the Fattoria di Fubbiano, a 45 hectares (135 acres) estate comprised of vineyards, olive groves and woods. Here, winters are mild and cornucopia of wild flowers begins blooming as early as January. At Fubbiano we are committed to nurturing the exceptional agricultural potential of our property by developing exciting groves and vines and diversifying our products while promoting indigenous varieties of olives and grapes. We strongly believe in maintaining the delicate chain of a balanced biological ecosystem and only use traditional organic products to protect our vines from deseases. Weed-killers or insecticides are never applied. We have revived the traditional way of rural life and faithfully restored the estate's original buildings, in order to retain their unique architectural character and to offer to our guests the chance to live a pleasant stay in a special rural setting. The main products of the Fubbiano estate are our award-winning extra-virgin olive oil and our DOC Colline Lucchesi wines that we sell also at our farm shop. Here, winters are mild, and various flours begin blooming as early as January. During the summer, a mild breeze blows down from the hills, while in autumn, maturing vines set the fields ablaze in a rainbow of colours. Holidays/stays can be booked in the large Villa, the farmhouse and several large apartments. All houses are fully equipped with crockery, silverware, glasses and pans, as well as sheets and towels, which are changed weekly. The estate also has a round swimming pool (8 m), to which all our guests have access. Once a week, we conduct wine tastings for our guest. On your request, we will also organise a cook who will prepare delicious local dishes for you. The estate‘s ideal location provides numerous opportunities for an interesting vacation/stay. Some examples that are easily reached by car: Lucca and the villas dotting the surrounding countryside; Collodi (Pinocchio theme park); Pisa; Florence; Siena, Arezzo; the spa towns of Montecatini, Monsummano and Bagni di Lucca; Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio (seaside – La Versilia); the mountain landscape of Garfagnana and the Cinque Terre.
