About
Caffè Florian is the oldest continuously operating coffee house in Venice and one of the oldest in the world. Founded in 1720, the elegant establishment sits in the Procuratie Nuove of Piazza San Marco, just steps from St. Mark’s Basilica. Over the centuries it has welcomed literary giants such as Goethe, Casanova, and Charles Dickens, and today it continues to serve traditional Venetian coffee and light fare in an atmosphere steeped in history.
