Le Stanze della Fotografia

From spring 2023, Le Stanze della Fotografia, created to enhance the art of photography, enrich the cultural itineraries on the Island of San Giorgio. They are located in the Sale del Convitto, at the end of the fondamenta, overlooking the basin of San Marco. The exhibition spaces, arranged over two floors, host two photographic exhibitions at the same time, dedicating themselves both to insights into the great masters and proposing emerging projects. The large rooms dominated by large trusses, specially restructured with a scenographic setting created in collaboration with the Teatro La Fenice, are modulated by large panels, created as light wooden wings. The joint initiative of Marsilio Arte and the Giorgio Cini Foundation continues the path begun in 2012 at the Casa dei Tre Oci in Venice, creating an international center for the research and enhancement of photography and the culture of images in Venice, with exhibitions, workshops, events, seminars.
