We moved from Firenze to Umbria in the 80's as we wanted to live in the country. We have worked hard to create an organic farm with respect of the environment and to live according to the cycles of the seasons.We now produce organic honey and have an organic garden, we breed sheep, pigs and chickens. Our farm is located in Umbria, near Toscana and Lazio. It is 620 meters above sea level and the land is surrounded by woods, with beautiful landscapes of the hills of Bolsena and the countryside of Castelgiorgio. We really live in a small oasis, close to Orvieto (only 20 minutes driving), Monte Amiata (40 minutes), Rome (1 hour and half), Monte Argentario (1 hour to the Tirreno sea). In a range of 35-45 kms you will find various thermal springs: Saturnia, San Casciano dei Bagni, the "Terme dei Papi" of Viterbo. Our structure consists of 4 apartments and a cottage. The apartments have been restored in the umbrian style from old stone farm buildings; the cottage has been built according to natural architectural principles and energy conservation. Both apartments and the cottage have their own garden, while the swimming pool is in the middle of the common area. We have a small restaurant where, on request, we serve local cuisine dishes with our home grown products. You will be surprised for all the choices you have staying at our farm: you can walk, trekking, biking, enjoy water sports on Bolsena lake, or you can experience the indeleble marks left by the Etruscans or even before by their predecessos the "Villanoviani". Here you can have a full immersion among a rich nature with unforgettable views all the year along. On request we organize wine tasting tours to Montalcino cellars with Mark, an american guide. Tourists interested in art have the oportunity of daily excursions to historical and important towns such as Orvieto, Pitigliano, Viterbo, Siena, Perugia, Assisi and also Roma and Firenze. The highway A1 (Roma-Firenze) is only 20 kms away; the nearest airport is Fiumicino, easily reached also by train from Orvieto station (about 2 hours).
