The settlement of Santa Cristina was developed during the first century BC and continued to be frequented until the sixteenth century, when the church, mentioned in 814 AD, was damaged and abandoned. The vicus underwent serious transformations during the fourth century, when the baths were closed and began a systematic dismantling of the building.
