La Romita di Valle Fuino
About
Located between Cascia and Norcia, in an astonishing rural landscape near the National Park of Monti Sibillini, arises La Romita di Valle Fuino; a renovated old-stone country house; built around the remains of a still consecrated and expertly restored little chapel dated 1077 AD. The facility offers accommodations into four apartments, each of the ones with double bedrooms, a hall and a small kitchen. In addition, the facility can boast 12 double bedrooms, allowing a total of 28 people to sojourn at the location altogether . The facility is accessible by wheelchair and two rooms are specifically designed for disabled guests. All the rooms have in-suite toilets. The facility also has a restaurant with two bathrooms; one of which specifically designed for disabled guests. Another distinctive feature of the facility is the food it offers. In addition to traditional Umbrian recipes, guests also have the opportunity of enjoying dishes typical of other regions of Italy and even foreign dishes; all exclusively prepared using natural products. Most of the products used in the kitchen, in fact, are self produced. Some examples are the spelt, the barley, the well known Castelluccio's lentils, the truffles, the saffron, the mushrooms, the woodland's fruits and vegetables, the cheese originating solely from the facility’s own herd of sheep, and finally the poultry and rabbits. All the livestock products used in the facility's kitchen are bred strictly in a traditional manner.
