Pineta di Milano Marittima
About
The Pinewood of Cervia – known locally as Pineta di Milano Marittima – is a 210‑hectare green lung nestled between the towns of Cervia and Milano Marittima in the Veneto region of Italy. Once part of a vast forest that once stretched further north, the pinewood survived intense agricultural changes and two world wars, only to be re‑forested in the post‑war period and incorporated into the Delta del Po Regional Park. Today it offers an unspoiled Mediterranean landscape dominated by broad‑leaf oaks, poplars, and two species of pine: the storied Pinus pinea (cheese‑pine) and the hardy Pinus pinaster. Visitors can explore a network of well‑marked walking routes, an educational outdoor classroom, and two running tracks that weave through the forest’s diverse habitats. The park is also a popular spot for birdwatching, with countless species drawn to the varied flora and open water nearby. Access to the pinewood is free, open from dawn until sunset, and guided tours can be arranged through the local green department or by booking at the official tourism offices.
