Civico Museo Archeologico e della Citta di Savona
About
The Civico Museo Archeologico e della Città di Savona, located inside the Palazzo della Loggia, was opened in 1990 in the Fortress on the Priamàr hill, mainly exhibits materials, organized chronologically on the two floors of the Palazzo della Loggia, from the archaeological research carried out by the International Institute of Ligurian Studies (in collaboration with the Archaeological Superintendency and the Municipality) since the mid-1950s, in the Priamàr itself and the area near it. The successful integration of suggestive excavation areas left in view into the museum space will help the visitor to take journey back in the ancient time. Of great interest is the archeological area with a Byzantine necropolis (IV-VII century A.D.). The Museum has no architectural barriers and has a tour for blind and visually impaired visitors with touch points and Braille texts.
