About

MAM (Monteriggioni Archaeological Museum) is in the monumental complex of Abbadia a Isola. It has been gradually restored and it is a new culture hub of the territory. The museum is ‘’indoor-outdoor’’. In the outside, it is intended to tell the history of the abbey by special panels and open-air enhancement elements. In the inside, two exhibition areas (La Tinaia and Sala Sigerico) tell the events of the territory of Monteriggioni in a journey back in time, from Middle Ages to Protohistory, through reconstructions, multimedia support, models, panels and findings. The museum is a project in progress; it is going to be enriched and it will receive rotations of exhibits. The museum is intended for continuous educational activities and for local research.
