Masseria San Nicola
About
At the extreme south of the Salento peninsula where the land is covered by secular olive trees, where the Adriatic and Ionian Seas join together, a coastline of fine sand beaches and rocky coves take us to Santa Maria di Leuca. At a distance of 5 km. from Leuca, in the town of Patu, we find the Masseria Agrituristica San Nicola. The Masseria San Nicola was built by the De Salvo Family , who were already citizens of the town, in 1500. It was the residence of the prime minister” Borbonico” Liborio Romano. This is a typical Salento Masseria, fulcrum of the agricultural activity of the surrounding territory. Without changing the layout of the structure there have been renovated various one room living areas of different sizes each with a cooking corner and bathroom fully independent. The rooms have central heating and air conditioning and are equipped with wi-fi. The surrounding countryside is covered with olive, almond and fig trees as well as the always present prickly pear bushes.
