Can you remember Bertolucci's movie "Novecento"? You will find the same atmosphere at Corte Donda, a holiday farm house located near Mantova on the bank of the river Po, takes its name from its first owner. This country home dates back to the 18th century and has been meticulously renovated over the years in every single detail. Corte Donda greatest charm lives not only in the geographical position, but also in the farms old-style interior design and atmosphere. The entrance, all the rooms, the original black and white pictures decorating the walls, everything is reminiscent of the past. Corte Donda extends over an area of 4 hectares and is flanked by a vineyard which gives the red Donda wine, the farm's pride. It also grows fruit and vegetables used to make jams, sauces and pickled fruits, commonly called Mostarde or Fruit Mustards. A section on its own should be dedicated to the cuisine which daily offers some of the best examples of Mantuan cuisine. The main eating room was converted from the old stables and now boasts a wonderful fireplace. Here you can enjoy appetizers, pork cold cuts with polenta or bread, pickled fruits and cheese, agnoli (the local tortellini), tagliatelle with Hare Sauce and farm-bred duck, guinea fowl or turkey meats. And to finish on a sweet note the traditional crostate, delicious pies made with the famous house jams. Accommodation is the manor house, all rooms have private bathrooms and a view on the extensive countryside that surrounds the property. In the autumn will be open the new company store where you can buy all the products we produce: mostarda, sbrisolona cake, cold cuts, Lambrusco wine, honey, jams and marmelade, Parmigiano Reggiano and Grana Padano cheeses and many other traditional products!
