“Il Grande Portico” is located in a renovated ancient farmhouse of 1700 and is located only 7 km from the historic center of Vicenza.The surrounding landscape is typical of Vicenza plain ... the backdrop of the nearby hills and the Smalls Dolomites.Nearby you can admire one of the most beautiful areas resurgence of Vicenza.Very striking is the architectural structure, which retaining its shape and original materials, opens to the surrounding garden through the large windows creating a harmonious interplay of shapes and colors. The interior and exterior of the restaurant are well suited to organize special events (weddings, private parties, christenings, communions, anniversaries, meetings and cultural work, ...) in an atmosphere of elegance and refinement.Since 2001, the Forte’s family running the restaurant offering tourist services with the quality and relaxation and offers its guests catering, accommodation, teaching and sale of sausages.THE FARMOur farm is founded at the beginning of the last century, when the tris grandfather Domenico decided to descend from Asiago.In the fields surrounding the farm, Dad Renato and his son Paul, grow corn and alfalfa for animal feed. Cattle, ducks, chickens and rabbits are bred for the meat to be used in the farm. The raising of pigs enables the production of salami, sausages and sopresse, obtained from the precious art of "making upwards el mas-what."From the garden came the cool season vegetables that go to surround our menus.From the orchard produce apricots, peaches, apples, pears and kiwi, for the production of cakes and jams.FOOD AND BEVERAGE ... IN ELEGANT SIMPLICITY 'The Farmhouse “Il Grande Portico” offers its guests a menu that changes with the seasons.The culinary preparations are obtained starting from simple and healthy ingredients, mainly from own farm or from local farms Vicenza.In the kitchen, mother Agnese acts as a "teacher" passing on to their children the recipes of our culinary tradition, strongly linked to the rhythm of the seasons and the natural flavors of the meat and vegetables produced on our farm. The pasta is homemade, as well as the “lasagna al forno” prepared following the ancient recipe of grandmother Isetta. From goodies daughter Silvia was born instead of his passion in preparing delicious desserts. We organize parties and ceremonies such as baptisms, confirmations, weddings, etc.
