Dolfinarium
About
The Dolfinarium Harderwijk is Europe’s largest marine‑mammal park, a vibrant blend of animal encounters, educational shows, and water‑park fun that attracts visitors of all ages. From the moment guests step under its iconic blue dome, they can witness dolphins gracefully performing in the “DolfijndoMijn” arena, rest areas for seals and walruses, and live feeding sessions with sharks and rays. The park also offers an interactive program, “In het water bij dolfijnen,” which lets families get up close in a controlled setting, and a dedicated water‑play area, Waterpret, featuring slides and lounging spots for kids. In addition to the main shows, the Dolfinarium showcases a variety of marine life across themed enclosures such as the Dolfijnendelta where newborn dolphins thrive, the Roggenrif with rays and sea bass, and the Walrussenwal that shelters the park’s resident walruses. Educational content is woven through the exhibits, with a digitised “Animal Passport” awarded to children which encourages exploration and learning about the often‑forgotten marine ecosystem. Visitors can enjoy tranquil strolls around the park, sample local cuisine in the on‑site café, and explore the playgrounds and beaches that border the Veluwemeer lake, making the Dolfinarium a well‑rounded destination for families, school groups, and wildlife enthusiasts alike.
