Millennium Cross
About
The Millennium Cross stands at 66 metres (217 ft) tall, towering atop Vodno Mountain above Skopje. Erected in 2002 as a monument to 2,000 years of Christianity in North Macedonia, the cross has become an iconic symbol of the city. Visitors can board a modern elevator inside the structure to reach the top and take in a sweeping 360‑degree panorama of Skopje’s skyline. A cable‑car line, opened in 2011, provides a scenic 6‑ to 8‑minute ride from the mountain base to the cross. Alongside the monument, a restaurant and souvenir shop opened in 2019, offering refreshments and local crafts. Whether you are a history enthusiast, a photography lover, or simply seeking a dramatic viewpoint, the Millennium Cross delivers a memorable experience for all ages.
