About

Hamardomen is the popular name for the protective building over the cathedral ruins at Anno museum Domkirkeodden. A limestone cathedral was located here in the Middle Ages, but after an attack by Swedish soldiers in 1567, the place was left in ruins. The Søylerekka that remains has become "Norway's national ruin" and for many is synonymous with the place name Domkirkeodden. The conservation building can be hired for weddings, concerts, theater productions and other cultural events, and it is the museum's main attraction with singing guides during the summer season.
