Hydropolis
About
Hydropolis is Poland’s pioneering water‑science centre, located in a historic underground reservoir in Wrocław. Visitors explore its seven interactive zones—ranging from the Planet of Water to the Ocean of Life—through free, high‑tech exhibits, guided multimedia displays, and educational workshops for all ages. A key enhancement is the official Hydropolis Mobile App, available on Google Play and the App Store, which offers a multilingual audio guide (Polish, English, German, Russian, Ukrainian) triggered by beacons and augmented‑reality markers. With the app, guests can unlock detailed audio descriptions, synchronize sound with on‑site video, and even view the mascots Octopus and Shark in 3‑D AR. The app also provides a real‑time locator for toilets, cafés, and exhibition sections, making navigation effortless even for first‑time visitors. The centre remains fully accessible for people with disabilities and welcomes families, school groups, and science enthusiasts seeking hands‑on learning about water’s role in nature and history. Admission is free, with the option to book organized group visits and to receive additional guidance via the helpline available 9:30‑16:30 Monday‑Friday and 9:30‑17:30 Saturday‑Sunday.
