Isobel, Australian, (Retired from Pharmacy) & Len, British, (Ex Television Lighting Director) returned to Europe having spent 32yrs living and working in Australia. Both are keen cyclists, on the trails almost daily. We chose Portugal as our home destination having decided to return to Europe. The Portuguese of the North refer to it as the true Portugal because the first king, Alfonso Henriques, was born in the northern city of Guimaraes and the first town of Portugal was also in the north being Ponte De Lima. All our rides take place in the north including the aforementioned. Each ride day is a new experience, after breakfast we travel to each start point. The variety of scenery is quite stunning, from mountains to valleys, rivers to ocean, national park and beautiful lakes, including the many rural scenes and small villages we come across on our travels, and all the historic towns.
