The Grutas de Mira de Aire are a magnificent limestone cave system in central Portugal, renowned for their breathtaking stalactites, stalagmites, and mineral formations that have evolved over 70,000 years. Guided in a relaxed eight–minute presentation followed by a 60‑minute walk, visitors experience a captivating blend of natural beauty and geological history. The cave offers a free downloadable audio guide in English, Spanish, French and German, allowing guests to explore at their own pace. The mineral exhibition displays rare specimens collected from surrounding quarries, while the entrance gallery welcomes visitors into this subterranean world. The caves remain open daily from October to March (9:30‑17:00), April, May and September (9:30‑18:00), and June to August (9:30‑18:30), with the last tour starting when the ticket office closes.
