JAN Restaurante, once a bustling hotspot on Carvoeiro’s square, offered a fusion of international bites and convivial atmosphere. From its sunny terrace overlooking the beach to its lively live‑music evenings, patrons enjoyed a worldwide menu ranging from Indonesian‑inspired dishes to fresh Portuguese seafood. The restaurant celebrated its founder Jan Zegers and, since its opening in 2011, became a favorite for both locals and visitors. Unfortunately, JAN permanently closed its doors on 10 October 2023. Though the building now houses Level’s next‑door spot, memories of its vibrant cuisine and welcoming service remain cherished among the community.
