An old Alentejo ‘monte’ rejuvenated as an unpretentious luxury hotel, in the midst of vineyards, holm oaks, and centuries-old olive trees in the landscape of Monsaraz, Portugal. In the heart of a 780 hectares farm estate with organic certification, owned by the same family for more than 200 years, São Lourenço do Barrocal comprises a winery for the creation of its ‘high expression’ blends under an exclusive brand, two farm to table restaurants that favour the ingredients and the simplicity of the Alentejo cuisine, a farm shop selling contemporary Portuguese handicraft products, regional delicacies and those from the estate itself, and a spa by the Austrian organic cosmetics brand Susanne Kaufmann.
