Quinta São João Batista is located at the confluence of Riachos and Brogueira (Torres Novas) and is part of the Paul do Boquilobo Biosphere Reserve (recognized by Unesco in 1981 as the 1st World Biosphere Reserve in Portugal). Quinta de S. João Batista has a very rich secular history, among others, represented in the colonial-style manor house (built in 1880), also including an architectural complex with excellent cellars for the aging of wine with 585 barrels (one of the largest in the Tagus region), traditional wineries and a modern winemaking centre. It has a total area of ​​about 145 hectares of which 130 ha are vineyards. Quinta de São João Batista and Cabeça de Toiro brand wines are produced on the Quinta with the main varieties being Fernão Pires, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc (in whites) and Touriga Nacional, Syrah, Castelão and Cabernet Sauvignon (in reds).
