"Because it`s good for my health, I`ve decided to be happy!" (Voltaire) OMASSIM is a small hostel with a very cozy atmosphere and a special touch about it. The Hostel is the perfect place for all kinds of visitors: surfers, beach lovers, yogis, vegetarians and those who cannot stay away from the ocean and for all those who appreciate the special an unique natural and culture surrounding of West Portugal. Our hostel is located in a quiet and lovely residential area of the small village Palhais with an open view over the surrounding green hills. At some meters distance you can find the shops, cafes and restaurants. For those who enjoy some wider variety the small fishing town of Ericeira is found only 3 km away. In less than 20 minutes walk you reach the internationally known surfers beaches of Praia da Ribeira d'Ilhas and Praia dos Coxos, part of the World Surf Reserve of Ericeira. Lisboa is about 40 km away to the South-East. The mild climate, the legendary waves and a coastline with 11 km of beautiful beaches, are the perfect ingredients that made for the past years the region Ericeira-Ribamar a mecca for all surfers and Atlantic lovers. Here, all surfers, whether beginners or world leading surfers, will find their "perfect wave". Those who do not want to surf will also find a lot of activities to enjoy their stay, whether for some relaxing or active holidays, in a breathtaking landscape and atmosphere with the most beautiful and colorful sunsets. With Voltaire's saying in mind, which is OMASSIM's main motto, our hostel is bright and cheerful. Our dining and living room is the perfect meeting point to take breakfast, meals or simply relax and hang out. In the meditation and movement room we have regularly Yoga and Meditation classes. And, of course, if there is no Yoga class taking place the Meditation and Movement room invites to relax together.
