About
The Church of Veade was founded in the Medieval Period and its structure was probably built in the 13th century; it underwent deep interventions in the 17th and 18th centuries, by initiative of powerful lords of the Order of Malta. From the Romanesque building, only the north and south lateral portals remain; their ornamentation connects this Church to the medieval temples of the Tamega and Douro.
