The buildings of the former Monastery of Sao Cristovao de Lafoes date from the end of the 17th century, but its foundation goes back to the 12th century. It was carefully renovated, the monastic character of spaces and ambiance was preserved and modern comfort installed. The Monastery offers, besides the area of the owners, the following facilities: one suite T1 (with double room, bathroom and living room with a double sofa-bed and kitchenette);a T2 house, Casa dos Conversos, (one double room and one twin room,two bathrooms, one ensuite, dinner and living room with fireplace, kitchen and a small living room with double sofa-bed)connect by a pateo to the lawn and swimming pool area; 5 double and twin rooms with ensuite bathroom (two of them located on the main building). A breakfast and living rooms, a room for games and a small bar at the reception are also at the disposition of the guests. The Monastery is surrounded by a wood, a moutain river marking its limits. In the picturesque stream there is a natural swimming pool with small waterfalls, swimming and diving is possible. There are many opportunities for hiking either in the Monastery wood or in the mountains surrouding the place. There is a golf course at 18 km distance and a SPA of S. Pedro do Sul (10 km). The rich regional gastronomy is a further incentive for visitors. Monuments, medieval buildings and baroque churches all easy to reach by car.
