In beautiful surroundings of Bela Krajina, Slovenia's southern part, on the border with Croatia, the village Otok and our house offer you a peaceful refuge. The energy of the house and the surroundings is inspiring, re-energizing and relaxing. You can sit, trink a long tea or coffee and read or just relax, chat or start great debates. Should you wish for a change in a day, the place presents great central point for sports activities, such as cayaking, canoeing, swimming, fishing or biking, walking and cultural sight-seeing. The surrounding DC-3 aeroplane, the reminiscence of the World War II, Metlika, Tri Fare, Črnomelj, Gradac, Natural park Lahinja, to name just a few, offer a great half-day or day trips.The river Kolpa, just 3 minutes-walking-distance from the house, offers you a mediating sanctury or a place to feel like being on the sea coast - enjoying sun bathing. It can also encourage you to step in to a canoe and go for a paddle up and down the river. For the ones of you wishing for more adventoure, we can organize raft canoeing as a day or half day trip.In the summer we can organize a sleep-over with the scouts, camping nearby.To wrap up the day, the evening can be spent either at an event in nearby Metlika or on the terrace enjoying with your company the silence of nature, which tends soon to turn into all-night debates on various subjects.
