Quai Cafe
About
We find ourselves in the 18th century, in front of the first experiment of modern urbanism on a large scale, in the city of A Coruna. It is here where the architect and captain general Martin-Paredes Cermeno, intends to embellish the view of the city from the sea by creating a unique and well-orchestrated facade: the atlantic facade of Marineda. Cermeno's source of inspiration were the French "Quais" which, in the same century, beautified the riverside and seaside facades of cities such as Bordeaux and Nantes. The project never came to and end, yet its partial realization left a relevant footprint in the city. Today, in the "Quai Cafe Coruna", we remind ourselves of this important part of Corunian history. Enjoy a good coffee, a refreshment or a cocktail with us while reminiscing about this piece of history of the crystal city.
