About
The Royal Stables of Córdoba, known in Spanish as Caballerizas Reales, were commissioned by King Philip II in the 16th century to cultivate the Andalusian horse. Situated in the historic centre of Córdoba by the Guadalquivir River, the complex reflects a military‑style architecture. The main stable room features a distinctive cross‑vaulted roof upheld by sandstone columns and is subdivided into individual small stables—known locally as boxes—providing a glimpse into the royal equestrian tradition.
