La Fonda Heritage Hotel is located on the picturesque Plaza del Santo Cristo, in the heart of Marbella's Old Town. It is the first Relais & Châteaux property in Andalusia. It also served as a church and a school before it was transformed into a hotel, eventually becoming a restaurant in the late '80s. Its recent renovation preserved the heritage of this important site while revealing important architectural discoveries, such as the altar of the 16th-century Hermitage of San Sebastián and original murals and frescoes. Accessed by covered passageways, the 20 rooms and suites feature contemporary interiors each boasting its own individual characteristics and charm. A few feature expansive terraces, some feature traditional balconies overlooking the square, and others sit high above the city's rooftops.
