Loro Parque
About
Loro Parque, located in Puerto de la Cruz on Tenerife, is a world‑renowned wildlife park and one of the largest zoos in the Canary Islands. Founded in 1972 by Wolfgang Kiessling, the park has expanded to 13.5 ha and now houses more than 4,000 animals, representing roughly 350 species, with a focus on parrots, dolphins, penguins, orcas, lions, gorillas and many other exotic creatures. Visitors experience meticulously designed habitats that mimic natural environments, immersive shows that highlight animal behaviour, and a suite of educational programs that promote conservation. The park’s conservation initiatives extend beyond the park itself, working through its Fundación to support reintroduction, breeding, and anti‑trafficking programmes worldwide. Loro Parque seamlessly blends entertainment with environmental stewardship, offering guests an unforgettable blend of wildlife discovery, stunning architecture, and an interactive learning experience.
