About

Bodegas Ysios is a boutique winery located in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, in the foothills of Sierra de Cantabria, just outside Laguardia. Designed by renowned Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, the winery was built between 1998 and 2001 as a symbolic tribute to the region’s winemaking heritage. The 196‑metre long structure features an elegant aluminum roof that ripples like a wave, and a façade covered with laminated wood panels that alternate between convex and concave shapes, creating a dynamic, undulating silhouette against the surrounding vineyards. Inside, visitors can enjoy a modern tasting experience that highlights the terroir‑focused wines produced on the estate, while the surrounding vineyard terrain offers a tranquil, immersive experience for wine lovers and architecture enthusiasts alike.
