About

Valencia’s Fallas is a world‑renowned street‑fireworks festival that turns the city into an open‑air theatre of colour, sound and satirical art. Starting on the final Sunday of February with the traditional La Crida, the celebrations run through the five days of March 15–19. Each morning the city wakes to the brass‑driven La Despertà, followed by the legendary daily Mascletà at 2 pm – a high‑octane pyrotechnic show that unites tourists and locals alike. In the evenings the streets explode with music, parades, vibrant costumes and, for the climactic finale, the burning of the gigantic papier‑mâché “fallas” during La Cremà, usually after midnight on March 19. The festival is entirely free to explore; walking the streets, watching the mascletàs and enjoying the displays costs nothing, though visitors can purchase street food and small souvenirs from the many stalls. The event is celebrated throughout the city, from the historic streets of the old town to the modern avenues and riverside, offering a unique, unmissable experience of Spanish culture and communal creativity.
