Located in the historic brick warehouse at Sjötullsgatan 2 in Västerås, Kajplats 9 has been serving a menu rooted in the bounty of the Baltic and Mälaren for over a decade. The dining room offers a relaxed yet refined atmosphere, complemented by a terrace that opens each summer to sweeping views of the lake. The menu focuses on fresh seafood, seasonal fish and classic Swedish comfort dishes, with vegetarian and vegan options available. Throughout the winter the restaurant hosts its popular julbord (Christmas buffet), featuring a choice of a traditional 595 SEK per person or an upgraded 1 195 SEK scullubox that adds prawns, mussels, lobster and oysters. Customers can order the basket for take‑out, but must book by Thursday 19 December and pick it up on 22 or 23 December between 12 00–17 00. The dinner service extends to 12 00–01 00 on New Year’s Eve, with a late‑night tasting to welcome 2025. Reservations are highly recommended for busy periods; bookings can be made online at the restaurant’s “Boka bord” page. Kajplats 9 welcomes guests for lunch, dinner, or a special celebration in its event hall “Tullkammaren.”
