Arosa Kulm Hotel & Alpin Spa
About
The Arosa Kulm Hotel & Alpin Spa, an iconic Swiss‑Alpine retreat perched 1 850 m above sea level, has been closed since March 30 2025 as part of an extensive transformation that will usher the property into the twenty‑first century. The historic hotel, founded in 1882, will be re‑opened for the 2028/29 season as a new‑era five‑star resort with 87 rooms, 76 serviced suites and 27 holiday apartments, all set within a footprint of 624 warm beds and an expanded wellness‑spa offering. During the interim period, the former Hotel will operate as the “Grand Pop‑Up Hotel Arosa” – a temporary, year‑long concept managed by Novac‑Solutions. The project will keep the building’s heritage façade intact while the lobby is transformed into a cinematic backdrop inspired by Wes Anderson, blending nostalgia with modern digital comforts. Guests can book short stays through major platforms from mid‑April 2025, with special rates for long‑term digital nomads and locals. The overarching renovation plan reflects a commitment to sustainability, with a new pellet‑woodchip heating system, integrated solar panels on the façade, and a complete technical overhaul that will slashed electricity consumption. The hotel’s owners, Simone and Urs Wietlisbach, aim to preserve the landmark’s architectural legacy whilst adding state‑of‑the‑art sport, health, gastronomy and leisure facilities. The project is expected to be completed by the 2028/29 winter season, offering guests a revitalised, eco‑friendly, luxury experience in the heart of the Swiss Alps.
